Spring Guidelines For The Avid Gardener

30 Aug

The Egyptian geese and their ducklings that parade around our gardens tell us there are certain tasks to complete and we’d like to share a few tips.

  • By planting Diospyros Whyteana (Monkey Bladder) and Halleria Lucida we attract little sugarbirds in great numbers
  • Because the weather hasn’t yet settled, we suggest you plant petunias mid to late September rather than early September as in previous years
  • For the control of aphids and mildew, we use a mist blower that gently sprays ProAlexin, which is a natural product.
  • This brand has also enhanced the growth of our 100-year-old oak trees. Believe it or not – we have 102!
