October begins with aplomb at The Alphen. - Alphen Hotel

Starting off the summer season with a selection of exciting events, this month is set to sizzle in the historic heart of the Constantia Valley.

Beginning with the best of food and wine, diners can look forward to the hotel’s monthly Supper Club. Fine wines by Villiera Estate will be paired with a delicious three-course meal at Blanko on the 24th of October. Held on the final Thursday of each month, booking is essential for this popular evening.

Celebrations are in order as we mark the occasion of Incognito’s first birthday. The stylish bar and venue will play host to International Gin & Tonic Day on Saturday the 19th of October – an event that no lover of craft gin will want to miss. Various stations will introduce guests to premium local and international gins like Six Dogs, Bombay Sapphire, The Botanist and ClemenGold Gin.

Aiming to introduce the little ones to art through an immersive experience, The Norval Foundation will be organising a museum tour on the 3th and 6th of October. There’s no time like the present to get the kids involved in art appreciation. For the young at heart, Seaforth Beach is the venue for the Simon’s Town Penguin Festival – a platform to highlight the iconic African penguin species and to educate the public about playing their part in supporting conservation of these tuxedoed birds.

Hit the road with the best views as Hout Bay plays host to the 2019 Chapman’s Peak Half Marathon. Runners can enjoy either a 10km or 21.2km race along one of the most spectacular marine drives in the world.

There’s no time like the present to start giving thought to end of year functions and parties. The Alphen makes for an ideal location to host your soiree. Look out for our line up of exclusive events – both at Blanko and Incognito.
